123domain.eu develops and supports DNSSEC testbed for Germany

As soon as an user types an internet address in a web browser, there is a danger that he will be redirected to a fraudulent page. With security enhancements to the Domain Name System (DNS) these vulnerabilities discovered by the Kaminsky report will be closed and manipulation made difficult. The Denic, eco, BSI, 123domain.eu and Braintec jointly agreed approach to the introduction a test environment of DNSSEC for .de domain names now gains speed. During the last few months a lot of hard work was put into a concept of a testbed to protect the .de domain names using DNSSEC technology. The final concept is now made available as a pdf-document in German language.

To start the test phase the initiators invite all interested providers and users on 2 July 2009 into DENIC eG's rooms in Frankfurt. Further details of the first meeting can be found at http://www.denic.de/domains/dnssec/dnssectestbed.html.
